Parkside Campground sits 12 miles south of Red Lodge, Montana, along the Beartooth Highway in the Beartooth Ranger District of Custer Gallatin National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the campground is a base for fishing, hiking and scenic driving. Greenough Lake lies less than a mile away, and Glacier Lake, Hellroaring and Lake Fork Trailheads are also close by. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Red Lodge show July and August highs around 81°F with lows near 50°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. A fee is charged for recreation at the site. The Parkside Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Lower Parkside Trail is 0.3 mile off.
