Bear Creek is a Forest Service campground in the Gardiner Ranger District of Custer Gallatin National Forest in Montana. It sits within the national forest's recreation sites, and the land is managed by the Forest Service. The site has vault toilets, and no fees are required to use it. That makes it a simple, low-cost base for an overnight stay in the district. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 81°F with lows near 48°F, and snow is common from November through April. That station sits about 1,000 feet lower than the campground, so temperatures at Bear Creek run cooler.
