Kayak Access
About
Kayak Access is a boat launch in Missouri on Ellis Island, about 1.5 miles from the town of West Alton. It is a put-in point for paddlers bringing a kayak onto the water. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 75°F and September highs near 80°F, with July and August highs in the upper 80s. That station sits at nearly the same elevation as the launch, so its figures are a fair guide. The closest nearby spot is River's Edge Trail, a hike about 5.5 miles away.
