Dresser Island is a boat launch in Missouri, set within the Mississippi River Wildlife Management Area about 4 miles from the town of Godfrey, Illinois, across the river. The launch sits at a single point on the river, and its simple purpose is to get a boat onto the water. The most comfortable stretch for a trip runs from late spring into early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Alton, Illinois, put May highs around 75°F and September highs near 80°F, with July the warmest month at about 87°F. For time off the water, the River's Edge Trail lies about 10 miles away.
