Camp Pet-o-se-ga

Camp Pet-o-se-ga is a park in northern Michigan managed by Emmet County Parks, about 4 miles from the community of Pon-she-wa-ing. Summer is the mildest time to visit. At a weather station in Petoskey, about 11 miles away, typical July and August highs average around 76°F with lows in the mid-50s, and those months see the fewest wet days of the year. Winters are cold, with typical January highs in the mid-20s. Water and trail options lie close by. Burt Lake, a fishing destination, is about 6 miles away, as is the Maple River, a canoeing route. The Lost Tamarack Pathway offers hiking a little farther out, and the Upper Blue Trail provides cross-country skiing roughly 9 miles off.
