Trail B is a short, out-and-back mountain biking route in western Massachusetts, about 1.6 miles from the town of Hancock. The climb is steep right from the start, with the steepest grade at about 12% within the first 0.05 miles. The route rises from a low point of 1,965 feet to a high of 2,072 feet, with a total elevation gain of 154 feet over a round trip of about 0.2 miles. The trail is rated hard, so expect a short but challenging ride. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Pittsfield show July highs around 79°F with lows near 58°F, though that station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run cooler. Several other mountain biking routes lie close by. Trail D and Trail E are each about 0.1 mile away, and Trail C is about 0.2 mile away. For time on the water, Kinderhook Creek, a canoeing spot across the state line in New York, is about 2.6 miles off.
