Thompson Pond Trail is a mountain biking route in Massachusetts, about 0.8 miles from North Abington. It's a short ride with no elevation gain, so it works well as a quick outing or a warm-up before heading to other trails in the area. The trail is a mix of singletrack dirt, rocky granite outcroppings and root networks typical of New England forests. This combination of surfaces makes it a good training ground for technical skills, and the pond setting adds a scenic element to the ride. It suits intermediate riders and confident beginners alike. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Hingham show July highs around 83°F and September highs around 74°F, with fewer wet days in late summer and early fall than in spring and winter. Twin Pond Trail and the Albert L Ingeno Trail are both about 0.4 miles away, and Jim's Trail is about 0.5 miles away. For a change of pace, House Rock, a climbing area, is about 5 miles off.
