Silas Road is a short, low-lying mountain biking route in Massachusetts, about a mile from the town of South Orleans. It is an out-and-back ride of roughly 4.9 miles, with a total elevation gain of about 122 feet. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 1.1 miles in, where the grade reaches about 6 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Chatham show July highs around 79°F with lows near 64°F, while winter highs stay in the upper 30s. Several other outings sit close by. Little Cliff Pond Trail and Cliff Pond Trail are both within a mile, and the Cape Cod Rail Trail is about 2.5 miles away. For more riding, Ober Road is about 1.8 miles off.
