Fire Road is a short, easy mountain biking route in Massachusetts, about 2 miles from the town of Ware. It's an out-and-back that starts at an elevation of about 830 feet and reaches a high point of 868 feet, with a total climb of about 121 feet and a distance of roughly 0.4 miles. The route is gentle, with the steepest stretch coming about a third of the way in, where the grade reaches about 8 percent. It's a low-commitment ride, and dogs are allowed. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Belchertown put July highs around 82°F and September highs around 73°F, with lows in the low 50s. That station sits several hundred feet lower than the route, so temperatures here run a bit cooler. Rock House Reservation and Wizard's Cave, two climbing areas, sit about 0.1 mile away. The Pond Trail is also close by. For fishing, the Quaboag River is about 4 miles off.
