Cherry and Webb Beach (West Beach)

Cherry and Webb Beach, also known as West Beach, is a public ocean beach in Westport, Massachusetts, managed by the Town of Westport. It sits within the Horseneck Point Conservation Area, about 0.7 miles from Acoaxet, on the state's south coast near the Rhode Island line. Summer is the warmest stretch for a beach day. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Tiverton, Rhode Island, put July highs around 85°F with lows near 65°F, and August is nearly the same at 84°F and 64°F. June runs a bit milder, with highs near 79°F, and September still reaches about 77°F with lows in the upper 50s. July through September are also the driest months, with only 9 to 10 wet days on average. Shoulder months turn cool quickly: highs average about 70°F in May and 64°F in October. Winter highs stay around 39 to 43°F from December through February. Several walking routes lie about 3.2 miles away, including the Quansett Trail, Fresh Pond Trail and Beach Loop Trail. For paddling, the East Branch Westport River is about 8.9 miles off.
