Wolf Rock is a climbing area in Catoctin Mountain Park in Maryland, managed by the National Park Service. It sits within the park's land, and the climb is best planned around the other climbing and hiking spots close by. The area is close to two other climbing areas, The Main Wall and Wolf's Head Pillar, each about 0.1 mile away. That makes it easy to pair with those routes on the same outing. Camp Misty Mount is about 0.6 mile off and offers a place to stay. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 75°F. July is the warmest month, with highs near 84°F. The routes here are all top rope, with grades ranging from 5.0 to 5.12d. Monkey Wall Access is the easiest at 5.0, and Chewbacca is the hardest at 5.12d.
