Glen Ellen Upper Trail is a short, out-and-back mountain biking route in Maryland, set within the Loch Raven Reservoir area. It covers about 0.34 miles with a total elevation gain of 192 feet, starting at around 340 feet and reaching a high point of about 427 feet. That makes it a quick ride of just a few hundred yards, easy to fold into a longer visit to the reservoir. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Cylburn show May highs around 73°F and October highs around 66°F, with July highs near 86°F. The trail sits right next to Glen Ellen Trail, about 0.1 miles away, and Glen Ellen Lower Trail, a hike about 0.2 miles away, so it pairs easily with either. A little farther afield is the Log Trail, about 0.4 miles off, and Loch Raven Reservoir offers lake fishing about 2 miles away.
