Sandy Stream Pond Trail is a short, flat cross-country ski route in Baxter State Park in Maine, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is an out-and-back of about half a mile, with a total climb of 38 feet from a low point of 1,482 feet to a high of 1,513 feet. It is a quick addition to a day spent exploring the park's network of trails. Winter is the natural season for this route. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Patten show January highs around 22°F with lows near 3°F, while July highs reach about 76°F. That station sits roughly 700 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run cooler.
