Ricker's Field Loop is a cross-country ski loop in Maine, about a mile from West Auburn. The route is a loop of roughly 1.1 miles with a total elevation gain of 36 feet and a total loss of 124 feet, so it's a short outing with only a small climb and a little more descent. Winter is the natural season for skiing here. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Lewiston show January highs around 28°F and lows near 12°F, while February runs a little warmer at about 32°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the loop, so temperatures on the ski route may run slightly cooler. The loop sits close to several other ski routes. Perkins Ridge Trail, Jim's Split, Faith and Mary's Trail and Broadway all start within a tenth of a mile. Ricker's Field Center is about half a mile away.
