The trail is an out-and-back of about a mile, with a steady climb to a high point of 1,230 feet from a low of 1,188 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.45 miles, with a 6% grade. Winter is the natural season for skiing here. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Greenville show January highs around 23°F with lows near 5°F, while March runs a bit milder at highs around 34°F.
