This is a short cross-country ski route on the Appalachian Trail in Maine, about 0.24 miles from the nearest town of Stephensons Landing. The route is an out-and-back of about half a mile, with a total climb of 70 feet and a high point of 597 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.18 miles, with a 5% grade. Winter is the natural season for skiing here. Typical averages from the nearby Millinocket weather station show January highs around 24°F and lows near 5°F, while July and August average highs in the upper 70s. Old State Road, another cross-country ski route, lies just 0.1 miles away. The Abol Stream Trail and Abol Pond Trail are both within half a mile, and the West Branch Penobscot River offers river fishing about 0.4 miles off.
