Ridge Trail is a 3.9-mile out-and-back hike in Maine, about 0.7 miles from the town of Lake City. The trail climbs from a starting point at roughly 850 feet to a high point of 1,372 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,109 feet over the round trip. The climb is moderate, and the steepest stretch comes near the start, where the trail rises about 23% over the first two-thirds of a mile. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 77°F with lows near 60°F. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the ridge run cooler. The hike takes about two hours, and the route is close to several other outdoor spots. Lost Valley, also called Out Back, and The Verticals are climbing areas just 0.3 miles away, and Zeke's Trail and the Sky Blue Trail are both within a mile.
