The Great River Road is a 742.2-mile National Scenic Byway in Louisiana, a long drive that links dozens of towns along the way. It passes through St. Francisville, Ferriday, Morganza, New Roads, Port Allen, Lake Providence, Tallulah, St. Gabriel, Richmond, Mound, Delta, Vicksburg, Donaldsonville, St. James, Gramercy, Laplace, Norco, St. Rose, River Ridge, Harahan, Jefferson, Edgard, Taft, Hahnville, Ama, Waggaman, Avondale, Bridge City, Westwego, Marrero, Arabi, Chalmette, Meraux, Violet, Poydras, Gretna, Harvey, Terrytown, Timberlane, Belle Chasse, New Orleans Station, Pointe a la Hache, Port Sulphur, Empire, Buras, Triumph, Boothville and Venice. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to drive it.
