Western Kentucky is a climbing area in Kentucky, about 2 miles from the town of Lone Star. It is a small crag with only two named routes, so it works best as a short stop rather than a full-day destination. The two routes are Off Width/Gully/Crack Project, a sport climb at 5.8, and Sandstorm, a mixed route at 5.10. Both are within the same grade range, so climbers can pick one or pair them in a single visit. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Madisonville show October highs around 72°F with lows near 50°F, and April is similar. July and August run hotter, with highs near 89°F. For a change of pace, the Rails-To-Trails hike lies about 7 miles away.
