Sheltowee Trace Trail is a short, hard mountain biking route in Kentucky, about half a mile from the London Ranger District of Daniel Boone National Forest. It sits within the Cumberland River Wild River area, and the State Department of Conservation manages the land. The trail is an out-and-back, about 0.9 miles long, with a low point of 756 feet and a high of 801 feet. The climb is only about 11 feet, so the route is more about the ride than the elevation. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Williamsburg show May highs around 76°F and October highs around 70°F, with September and October seeing the fewest wet days of the year. Dog Slaughter Trail #414 and Cumberland River Trail #2 are both within about a mile. Rockcastle Campground and Grove are roughly 7 to 8 miles away.
