Cedar Valley Trail is a short, easy hike in Iowa's Coralville Recreation Area, managed by the Army Corps of Engineers. The route is about 1.3 miles long, with a low point of 702 feet and a high of 805 feet, and it is a point-to-point trail rather than a loop. The steepest stretch comes early on, at about 0.15 miles in, with a grade of 12 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Iowa City show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 78°F, while July averages about 86°F. The trail takes about half an hour to complete. Barred Owl Hollow Trail and Great Horned Owl Trail both lie within about a mile, and Coralville Lake is about 1.4 miles away. Climbers can find Centennial Park roughly 4.2 miles off.
