Beaver Wall is a climbing area in the Hidden Springs Ranger District of Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among several other climbing areas, including Beaver Wall Right and Mr. Jimmy, all within about a tenth of a mile. The climbing here is sport-based, with 11 sport routes and one trad route. Grades run from 5.8- up to 5.13b, with the hardest route, Legend of the Falls, a 5.13b sport climb first ascended by Kurt Smith. The median grade is 5.12a. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Dixon Springs show May highs around 77°F and October highs around 71°F, while July and August average in the upper 80s. North Bluff and Middle Falls are both within a third of a mile for a hike, and Redbud Campground at Bell Smith Springs is about 2 miles away.
