Swan Lake
About
Swan Lake is a boat launch in Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge in Illinois, about 2.6 miles from the town of Brussels. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service manages the land. Fall is a comfortable time to put in. Typical October averages from a nearby weather station run around 69°F for highs and 46°F for lows, while midsummer highs climb to about 89°F in July. Several short trails start close to the launch. Prairie Adventure Trail is about 0.6 mile away, Wildlife Haven Trail about 0.7 mile, and Swan Lake Levee Trail about 1.5 miles. Climbers can head to J: Boy Scout Cove, roughly 3.3 miles from the water.
