Big Nose is a bouldering area on Bureau of Land Management land in the Shoshone Field Office in Idaho, about 15 miles from Ketchum. It sits among several other climbing areas, including Willy Wonka's Dynamic Fist, Knob Hill and Bedrock, all within about a tenth of a mile. The Rock Creek (Croy) Bouldering area is about 0.2 miles away. The climbing here is all bouldering, with five routes ranging from V0 to V4. The easiest are Booger and Sneeze, both V0, and the hardest is Scent of a Man at V4. The routes were first ascended between 2018 and 2019. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Ketchum show July highs around 80°F with lows near 45°F, and snow is common from November through April. That station sits about 967 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures at Big Nose run cooler.
