The Alcove is a climbing area in Idaho, about 4 miles from the town of McMillan. It sits among a cluster of named climbing areas, with Left of the Alcove, Alcove Left/South and Down Under Corridor Area all within about a tenth of a mile. That makes it easy to pair with other routes in the same stretch of rock. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Twin Falls show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 80°F, while July and August average in the low 90s. The Canyon Rim Trail is about 0.7 miles away, and the Mogensen Trail is roughly 4 miles off. Rock Creek Trail lies about 6 miles away.
