Lower Drain Trail is a short mountain biking route in Idaho's Payette National Forest, on the McCall Ranger District. It is a hard trail, with a one-way climb of about 200 feet and a round trip of about 376 feet, over a distance of roughly a mile. The Forest Service manages the surrounding land. The trail starts near 5,218 feet and reaches a high point of about 5,387 feet. The steepest stretch comes within the first tenth of a mile, with a grade of about 12 percent. The route is an out-and-back, so you can ride it in either direction. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in McCall put July and August highs around 81°F, with only about five wet days a month. Winter brings highs near 30°F and regular snow days. The Upper Drain Trail lies about 0.2 miles away and the Blue Ridge Loop about 0.4 miles away, so riders can link them easily. Last Chance campground is about 3 miles off, and Goose Creek, a paddling spot, is roughly 4.6 miles away.
