Red Tail is a 4-mile out-and-back mountain biking trail in Idaho's Hidden Springs Area, about 3 miles from the town of Avimor. The route is rated moderate, with a total elevation gain of 915 feet on the way up and the same on the way down, and it reaches a high point of 3,613 feet. The trail works well as a loop when combined with other Ridge to Rivers trails and area roads. The trail's steepest stretch comes about 0.67 miles in at a 16% grade. Dogs are allowed on leash. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 88°F with lows near 58°F, and August is nearly as warm. Winter is cold, with January highs near 37°F and about 9 snow days a month. Nearby, the Meadowlark mountain biking trail and #72 Lookout Loop are each about 0.2 miles away. The W. Currant Creek mountain biking trail is 0.3 miles off. Climbers can find Atomic Boulders about 6 miles away.
