Westside is a hard hike of about 13.6 miles in the Lowman Ranger District of Boise National Forest in Idaho, managed by the Forest Service. It's an out-and-back route with a total elevation gain of about 214 feet, so the climb is gentle. The trail is natural surfaced, and both horses and bikes are allowed. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Deadwood Lodge, which sits about 420 feet higher than the trail, show July highs around 82°F and lows near 40°F. That station's September runs cooler, with highs near 73°F. Peace Creek Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and Habit Creek is about half a mile off. Riverside Campground and Barneys Campground (Boise National Forest, ID) are both about a mile away, so there's camping close by.
