Copper Lines Connection is an easy, out-and-back hike of about 1.2 miles on natural trail in Idaho's Idaho Panhandle National Forests, within the St. Joe Ranger District. The route gains about 86 feet from a low point of 3,718 feet to a high of 3,804 feet, making it a short and gentle walk with little change in elevation. The trail is open year-round and is managed by the Forest Service. Bikes and horses are both allowed, and the trail is not accessible. For planning, the nearest town is St. Joe, about 25 miles away. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 84°F and lows near 43°F, and the station sits about 640 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the hike run a little cooler. Line Creek is just 0.1 mile away, and the St. Joe River and Spruce Tree campground are both about half a mile off. Copper Ridge is roughly 0.8 mile away.
