Conant Boat Access on the South Fork of the Snake River is a Forest Service facility in Idaho's Caribou-Targhee National Forest, within the Palisades Ranger District. It serves as a put-in and take-out point for boaters and anglers on the South Fork. A $3 fee covers facility and parking use, and it is paid at the site. Season passes are available at the BLM Upper Snake Field Office, the camphosts at Conant and Byington Boat Access Sites (Thursday through Monday), and the Palisades Ranger District office on E. Ririe Hwy. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Swan Valley weather station show July highs around 85°F with lows near 46°F, while September cools to highs around 75°F. Nearby, Falls Campground is about 2 miles away, and the ECHO/Indian Creek and Little Currant hikes are each within about 2.5 miles. Climbers can find the Palisades Creek climbing area roughly 10 miles off.
