Ribbon Trail

Ribbon Trail is a short, easy walk in Georgia's Sprewell Bluff Wildlife Management Area, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. The trail runs out and back, covering about 0.86 miles with a total elevation gain of about 23 feet, from a low point of 588 feet to a high of 625 feet. The route is nearly flat, with the steepest grade at about 4% rising just beyond the start. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Thomaston show October highs around 78°F with lows near 52°F, while April runs about 77°F by day and 49°F at night. Summer is hot, with July highs averaging around 91°F. Several other outings sit close by. Upper River Trail is about 0.4 miles away and Long Leaf Pine Trail about 0.7 miles. The Flint River offers fishing within roughly 0.8 miles, and Moss Falls is about 6 miles off.
