Salt Marsh is an easy out-and-back hike in Delaware, about 1.8 miles from the town of Donovan Development. The trail is short, with a total length of about 2 miles, and the elevation change is minimal, rising to about 15 feet from a low of about 2 feet. The climb is gentle, with a steepest stretch of about 3% at roughly 0.77 miles in. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from the nearby Lewes weather station run from highs around 75°F in May to about 80°F in September, while July highs average about 88°F. The walk takes about half an hour, so it works well as a short stop. Close by, the Walking Dunes Trail is about a mile away. Rehoboth Bay, a saltwater fishing spot, is about 7 miles off, and the Black Farm Trail (Red) and Bennett's Walk are both within about 10 miles.
