Sleeping Giant is a bouldering area in Connecticut, about 0.3 miles from the town of Mount Carmel. It sits among a cluster of climbing and hiking spots, with several other named areas and trails within a short walk. The climbing here is all bouldering, and the routes range from V0-1 to V10. The easiest is Curtains, and the hardest is Billy Blues. The median grade is V4-. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Mount Carmel show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, while July and August average in the mid-80s. Nearby, Between the Chin and Chest and The Chin are climbing areas about 0.1 mile away, and Judge Cook's Oxen Trail is a hike at the same distance. Tower Trail is about 0.3 mile off.
