Steven Sauter Rock is a short mountain biking outing in Connecticut on regional agency land, about half a mile from the town of Burlington. The route is an out-and-back of roughly 1.2 miles with a total climb of about 300 feet, from a low point near 442 feet to a high of around 530 feet. It's an easy ride, and the steepest stretch comes at the start, with a grade of about 13%. For timing, late spring and early fall tend to be the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Burlington show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F, while July averages about 84°F. Several other spots sit close by. Backside is a mountain biking trail about 0.4 miles away, and Weha Duro is about 0.8 miles off. The Orange Trail and Kenney Ridge hiking routes are both within about a mile and a half.
