best months

Beast East is a mountain biking route in Connecticut, about half a mile from the town of Tolland. It is a hard ride, and the climb is nearly flat, with the high and low points of the route both around 740 feet. That makes it a short, low-elevation outing rather than a long climb. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from the nearby Storrs weather station show July highs around 80°F with lows near 63°F, while September cools to highs in the low 70s. Several other routes sit right next to it, including Beast (return to top) and Thrush, each about 0.1 mile away. Paddlers can head to the Hockanum River, about 6 miles off, and climbers to Gollum's Playground, roughly 10 miles away.
