Sanford Feeder is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 0.6 miles long and rising about 210 feet from a low point of 306 feet to a high of 520 feet. The nearest town is Mount Carmel, about 2.3 miles away. The route is a point-to-point climb, and the steepest stretch comes early, at about 0.19 miles in, with a grade of 14 percent. The total descent is a little more than the gain, at 228 feet, so the route is roughly balanced. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets.
