Pine Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 2 miles from the town of Westville. The route is 0.75 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 22 feet, so it's a gentle walk that works well as a quick outing or a warm-up before exploring more of the area. The trail is a point-to-point route, and the climb is mild. The steepest part comes at about 0.67 miles in, with a grade of 7 percent. Bikes are allowed, so it's an option for riders as well as hikers. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Ansonia show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 75°F, with July and August peaking near 82°F. Several other trails sit close by.
