The Blue-Yellow Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 1.9 miles long and rising from roughly 394 feet to about 446 feet. The trail is a point-to-point route, and the climb is gentle, with a total gain of 83 feet and a steepest stretch of about 4% at around 0.4 miles in. The nearest town is Paynes Corners, about a mile away. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mt Carmel show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, while July averages about 85°F and January highs sit near 38°F. The trip takes about half an hour, so it works well as a quick outing. The Blue Trail and Kyle's Slabs, a climbing area, are both about 0.8 miles away, and the North Summit Trail and God's Country are each about 0.9 miles off.
