Dewdrop is a cross-country ski route in Colorado's Ouray Ranger District, part of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route sits at about 8,177 feet, rising to a high point of 8,254 feet over a 0.35-mile stretch. The climb is short but rated hard, with a total gain of 76 feet and a steepest grade of about 6% near the start. Winter is the natural season for this ski route. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Montrose put January highs around 31°F with lows near 14°F, while June is the warmest month, with highs around 72°F. The station sits a few hundred feet higher than the route, so temperatures on the trail may run slightly warmer. Happy Hollow, a cross-country ski area, lies just 0.1 mile away, and the Dp Ski mountain biking trail is the same distance off. Climbers can head to Watermark Boulder, about 7.7 miles away, and Silesca Cabin offers camping roughly 8.4 miles from the route.
