Upper Boulderfield Area is a climbing area in Colorado's White River National Forest, within the Aspen Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the surrounding land. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 73°F with lows near 39°F, and because that station sits somewhat lower than the crag, temperatures here run a little cooler. Separate Xcel Energy helicopter maintenance is underway between Basalt and Leadville through October 11. Two other climbing areas, Upper Bulldog Cliff and Turkey Rock, sit about 0.1 mile away. For an overnight stay, Lincoln Creek Dispersed Campground is about 1.4 miles off, and Lost Man Campground is roughly 2.5 miles away.
