The Taj Mahal is a climbing area in the South Platte Ranger District of the Pike and San Isabel National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among several other climbing areas in the district, which makes it easy to pair with other objectives on a single outing. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Cheesman weather station, which sits well below the area, show July highs around 84°F with lows near 53°F. That station's figures run warmer than the temperatures at the Taj Mahal, so expect it to be cooler up high. Split Dome, also known as Split Rock, is about half a mile away, and Jackson Creek Dome is roughly 0.6 miles off. Scottys Trail 681 and Dutch Fred Trail 679 both lie about a mile away. For an overnight base, Devils Head Campground is about 1.8 miles from the Taj Mahal.
