Ridge 1, also known as Stairway to Heaven, is a climbing area on city land within the Bergheim - Wood land unit in Colorado. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, so it works well as one stop in a day of exploring the surrounding crags. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Boulder show May highs around 71°F and October highs around 66°F, while July averages climb to about 88°F and winter lows drop to about 21°F. Hillbilly Rock and Ridge 2, also known as Satan's Slab, are both about 0.1 mile away, and Skunk Canyon is just as close. For a walk, the Mallory Cave Trail is about 0.3 mile off.
