Pegasus is a climbing area on city land in Colorado, set among a cluster of named climbing spots. The Sphinx lies just 0.1 mile away and Devil's Advocate about 0.2 mile off, so the area works well as a base for exploring several routes in a short stretch. The climbing here is all trad, with seven routes ranging from 5.6 to 5.10a. The easiest is Son of a Sea Dog at 5.6, and the hardest is Ride On at 5.10a. The Golden Bridle, a 5.8, was first climbed by Tony Bubb in November 2015, free solo. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 79°F with lows near 50°F, while winter highs sit in the low 40s. For a change from the rock, the Shanahan - South Fork Trail and Upper Big Bluestem Trail are both within half a mile. Boulder Creek, about 4 miles away, offers canoeing, and Winiger Ridge campground is roughly 4.5 miles off.
