Main Area is a climbing area in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, within the Rocky Mountain National Park Wilderness. The National Park Service manages the land. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb here. Typical July averages from a nearby weather station at Allenspark run to highs around 74°F and lows in the mid-40s. That station sits a little lower than the climbing, so temperatures at the rock can run slightly cooler. Winter is cold, with typical January highs near freezing and lows in the teens. The park charges a fee, so plan for an entrance pass before you arrive. The closest neighbors are two hikes, Hidden Falls about 0.4 miles away and Allenspark Trail about half a mile off. Climbers wanting more rock can head to Wild Basin bouldering, under a mile away. For an overnight base, Olive Ridge Campground is about 3 miles away.
