Lion's Den is a climbing area on city land in the Boulder Falls - Luckie No. 3 unit of the Boulder Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, in Colorado. It sits within a cluster of climbing spots, with the Arena (aka Contender Wall) and Catacombs both about 0.1 mile away. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 73°F in June to about 79°F in July, with lows in the low to mid 50s. That station sits about 940 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures at the rocks run cooler. Nearby, the Hawkins Surguine Spur Trail starts about 1.2 miles away and offers hiking. Winiger Ridge campground is about 4.2 miles off, and Gordon Gulch is about 4.9 miles away.
