The Catacombs is a climbing area in Colorado's Boulder Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, in the Boulder Falls area. The land is county-managed. It sits within a tight cluster of crags, so it pairs easily with neighboring walls for a fuller day of climbing. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable seasons. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from July highs around 79°F and lows near 50°F to September highs of about 70°F, though temperatures at the crag likely run cooler because it sits higher than the station. The Arena (also called Contender Wall) and Cenotaph Spire are both about 0.1 mile away. The Hawkins Surguine Spur Trail is roughly a mile off, and Winiger Ridge campground is about 4 miles away.
