Idaho Springs is a climbing area in the Clear Creek Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. It sits in the middle of the district's climbing network, with several other crags and trails within a few miles. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Cabin Creek weather station run from highs around 64°F in June to about 69°F in July, with September still near 61°F. Winter is cold, with January highs around 32°F and lows near 12°F. Mill Creek Dome is about 2.1 miles away, and Lisa Randall Wall is 2.2 miles off. Columbine Campground lies about 2.5 miles away. For a hike, Yankee Hill Trail is roughly 1.5 miles from the springs.
