Groove Rock, also known as the Leap of Faith Area, is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land managed by the Gunnison Field Office, close to the town of Gunnison, Colorado. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to climb here. A nearby weather station records typical average highs of about 76°F in June and 70°F in September, with nights dropping into the mid-30s. The crag sits a few hundred feet above that station, so temperatures here run somewhat cooler. July and August bring the most wet days of the year. Several other climbing areas are clustered close by. Super Slabs and the Little Finger aka Penis Rock Area are each about 0.1 mile away, and Beginner's Slab is about 0.3 mile off. For an overnight stay, Gunnison KOA is roughly 2.6 miles away.
