Gold Star Canyon is a climbing area within Colorado National Monument, managed by the National Park Service. It sits inside the monument's boundaries, about 2.4 miles from a nearby weather station that records typical averages for the area. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from that station show May highs around 74°F and October highs around 66°F, while July averages climb to about 93°F. A fee is charged for activities at the monument. The closest trails are Irishmans Trail, about 0.3 miles away, and Bench Trail, about 0.5 miles away. Tiara Rado and the Kissing Couple area are both within about a mile and a half.
