Finback Crags is a climbing area in Colorado's Leadville Ranger District, part of the Pike and San Isabel National Forests. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. At the nearby Climax weather station, typical averages for July are a high of 67°F and a low of 40°F, with no snow days in July or August. That station sits lower than the crags, though, so expect it to run cooler up at the rock. Two Mount Sherman routes start within about a mile and a half: the Southwest Ridge from Fourmile Creek and the route from Iowa Gulch. Weston Wall offers more climbing about 4 miles away, and Fourmile Campground is roughly 5 miles off.
